Cornell Chicken
I grew up in Upstate New York (Binghamton, to be exact) and my dad was one of the first, if not the first, to have an actual gas (natural) grill in a back yard in our neighborhood. I can't even remember dad ever using charcoal. Needless to say, I was raised on a lot of grilled meat! One item was a BBQ'd chicken that we referred to simply as "Mom's chicken." It wasn't until recent years that I learned that "Mom's" recipe for the BBQ sauce was none other than the regional "Cornell Chicken." Here's a link to an article in the July/August 2014 edition of "Edible Finger Lakes" telling the story of Cornell Chicken. Try the recipe, you'll love it!! (I've rearranged the pages to keep the story text together. And I know, I've probably violated copyright laws. Sorry.)
